The title of tonight's work of genius (sarc) is a take off on an old New York City local TV Public Service Ad, "It's 10 PM. Do you know where your children are?" It was a great ad and should probably be run today, but I'm using it because every parent should know their child's Rising Sign. Why? Because no parent really knows their children unless they do. I realize that sounds presumptuous but I've given my clients tremendous insights into why and how their kids do and don't do various things just by explaining their Rising Signs.
If you don't know your Rising Sign, you don't know how other people see you. I'm not kidding, you don't even have a clue how they see you, unless you were born at sunrise! Interested? OK, here we go! Prepare to learn about YOUR RISING SIGN! I REALLY believe in the concept of the Rising Sign in astrology, also known as your Ascendant. But what exactly IS a Rising Sign/Ascendant in astrology and what does it mean to a human being? Actually, a lot. Astrology's Rising Sign is the zodiac sign that is on the horizon, Ascending the horizon at the moment of your birth from your point of view (POV). To repeat, it is the SIGN on the horizon that determines your Rising Sign/Ascendant, nothing else. Whether or not you believe in Astrology, Your Rising Sign/Ascendant is one of the most important things you'll ever know about yourself. Your Rising Sign/Ascendant is HOW YOUR SPIRIT HAS CHOSEN TO PROJECT YOURSELF INTO PHYSICAL REALITY, IT'S HOW OTHERS SEE YOU! Your Rising Sign's more important than your Sun sign in early life because you can’t speak so how you're perceived by caregivers determines how they care for you. It is SO IMPORTANT for parents and caregivers to know the Rising Sign of their kid(s) so they can know how the kid filters what s/he says/needs/does. I'm going to share with you my proprietary & nifty way of understanding your Rising Sign/Ascendant. Think of yourself as a movie projector: a bright light, a curved mirror to concentrate the light through the 35mm film & its lens. Your Sun☉ (in Aries, Taurus, etc) = Bright Light, your Moon☽ = curved mirror, your soul/mind = 35mm film & RisingSign = the lens. Do you get that? If so I can show you why your Rising Sign/Ascendant is one of the most important things you can learn about yourself. You project your soul/mind/film onto the world colored by your Sun/light & your Moon/emotion/mirror BUT THE WORLD SEES ONLY THE IMAGE ON THE SURFACE OF THE LENS! We see your Sun/Purpose Moon/Emotions soul/mind as it looks on your lens, Rising Sign/Ascendant, the way a movie audience sees the screen. You may be the shyest Cancer in the world but if you have Aries Rising the world is going to perceive you as bossy or even aggressive/combative, a very direct person at the very least. You may be the sexiest Scorpio alive in how you approach life but if you have Virgo Rising you're not going to be perceived as being that into sex, maybe worried about it or overly detail oriented about it. ONLY if you were born around Sunrise, when the Sun was on the horizon, will you be a Double (___) and what others see is what they get. You can't be sure that what your soul/mind is sending out is being perceived correctly UNLESS you know your Rising Sign/Ascendant! When you DO KNOW YOUR RISING SIGN, YOU ARE EMPOWERED! For example, I know I'm a Leo Rising, I'm comfortable with it now but in the past my 8th House #Pisces Moon added shyness to my Projector dimming my Aquarian light. Knowing I'm a #Leo Rising freed me. My goal today is to free you, too! When you KNOW no matter what you do, you are seen through the lens of your Rising Sign, then you can learn to make that work for you!
